I'm an ESL teacher, a translator,an artist and a lover of peace, life and beauty. I have been fighting and living with different chronic illnesses since 1999 when I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor. Words like Cushing's, hypothyroidism then Hashimoto's, metabolic syndrome and recently generalized postictal epilepsy ,pineal calcification and cortical atrophy have been very real to me.......I have won many battles and have lost a few but I do plan to finish the marathon of life in triumph I expect to reach the finish line, already traced for me by God's finger.
Philippians 3:13-14
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Dioko in greek means to follow or press hard after, to pursue with earnestness and diligence in order to obtain, to go after with the desire of obtaining.
As we face many storms faith is like an anchor that keeps us from drifting and casting away in order to continue our journey, sometimes facing frightening waves, sometimes on dry desert land or cold inhospitable weather .
THIS YOUNG warrior woman seems to be taking on the world - and winning!
Chloe Spiteria, 18, of Singleton Road Dagen-ham, has a history of epilepsy, but that hasn't stopped her from trying to realise her Olympic dreams.
The Barking Abbey student will be jetting off to Switzerland in April for the Olympic wrestling qualifying rounds.
Chloe is hoping to show sponsors what she is capable of, and be a role model to other youngsters living with disabilities.
Speaking about her hopes for Beijing 2008, Chloe said: "It's my dream to get to this year's Grames.
"I would love to win but I don't expect to.
"I want the experience so I can go to London 2012 with more confidence and win in my home country.
"I have a history of epilepsy and I want to show other disabled peosdple what they can do if they put their minds to it.
"I also want to show potential sponsors that I'm aiming to be a success, and that I have the ability.
"My coach says that he sees me as one of the top three female wrestlers in the country."
Amazingly, Chloe has only been wrestling for seven months - she is just natural born competitor.
Explaining how she got involved in the sport, Chloe said: "During the holidays each borough has a summer school that allows you to take different courses.
"Last year I went to a sports event where I won two gold medals, and someone must have seen ability in me because I was asked if I wanted to take up wrestling.
"I remember telling me mum and her saying - "Why didn't I think of that - it's the perfect sport for you!"
At the moment Chloe trains six days a week with the British Wrestling Association (BWA), and is also studying for her A levels.
Her name has also been put forward as a contestant on tv's 'Gladiators' programme that could see a revival in May this year.
Chloe is very excited about the prospect of thousands of people seeing her in action.
She said: "The makers of the show got in touch with BWA and asked for girl wrestlers, and my coach nominated me.
"The trials are in a few weeks time, and I think the show is going to be launched some time in May, so we would be filming during April.
"I think it will really help me a lot as a competitor for the Olympics, that's why I've agreed to try out.
"I also think it could help me to get sponsorship.
"I have always had it in my mind to be in the Olympics - people can succeed if they just believe they can do it, and I believe that I can.
